-
Gill Bustamante is an established British artist whose otherworldly paintings of the landscape and wildlife transport viewers beyond the everyday.
Working in oil on canvas and often from memory, she has developed a unique language that not only highlights some of the visual details and accuracies of a landscape, its birds, flora and fauna, but also seeks to delve beneath the surface and reveal the very spirit of nature. Gill combines semi-abstract techniques, free and intuitive brush strokes to portray her ideas. As a result, her paintings appear as pathways through liminal spaces, evoking a sense of another place that transcends the ordinary.
Gill’s goal as an artist is to aid and nurture a deeper appreciation for nature in others and to encourage the protection of landscapes and wildlife. Her paintings provide a space for viewers to escape and become more curious about the spiritual.
